Yuichi Yamazaki

Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture

Yuichi Yamazaki works from a small shared glassblowing studio in a quiet Yokohama residential neighborhood. He moves between two very different bodies of work: the pale, softly rippling “Usuhakka” (“faint mint”) blown-glass series, and geometric, sandblasted vases in bold color. The Usuhakka series is his best-known tableware line – every piece carries the gentle waver characteristic of hand-blown glass.
